Aero-modeling is the simplest, safest, most creative and fun way to build and fly one's own airplanes. Most kids are fascinated by airplanes, and flying model airplanes is top on their priority list. However, only a few of them take their passion for flight to the next level to eventually build/own their own model. The high cost, lack of information, organized training, dedicated flying sites and access to good aero-model suppliers are the main limiting factors.
With these problems in mind, the idea of making an Association dedicated to model aeronautics came to us 'like minded' few who are deeply passionate about flying. We had similar stories to tell about our 'trials and tribulations' in this field and felt we needed to be more organized and formed this society. All of us get together every weekend or holiday at our flying field and apart from flying our planes, indulge in a lot of model building and technical discussions.
The members of the AMA, are the pathway to the future of modeling and are committed to making modeling the foremost sport/hobby in the world. This vision is accomplished through:
The Aero modelers Association is to become a world-class association of modelers organized for the purpose of promotion, development, education, advancement, and safeguarding of modeling activities. The Association provides leadership, organization, competition, communication, protection, representation, recognition, education, and scientific/technical development to modelers.
The promotion, protection, organisation and encouragement of model aircraft building, flying and development in all its aspects in India, through the medium of clubs and individual members; assistance and guidance to model aircraft clubs or individuals; collaboration between members of the Society; and co-operation on behalf of members of the Society with the Civil Aviation Authority or other government departments and any other bodies and organisations in India.
To produce, collect and distribute information in connection with model aircraft or the model aircraft movement on such terms as Governing body shall think fit.
To encourage and support research in model aircraft design theory and construction.
To control and record model aircraft performance within the areas under the jurisdiction of the Aero Club.
To act as promoters of National and International model aircraft meetings, contests and exhibitions.
